The year 1994.
A German couple falls in love with this place in the Italian hills in Le Marche, more specifically in Montesecco, the peaceful quietness and the far-stretching outlooks, capture them in no time. They start renovating the house, which had been abandoned for years and had fallen to pieces. They have water and electricity re-installed and with magic they turn the former farmhouse into a charming home for themselves , living now on the first floor and downstairs an artist’s working-studio, as well as a guest-house.
Then in 2010 rather by accident, Sigrid Custers and Barent Bulcke of BBSC-Architects visit the house, which was then on sale. Your guess is right: it was an “instant crush”. They transform the house drastically into a luxurious holiday-home. The artsist’s studio is turned into a spacious open-kitchen-livingroom for the whole family, with direct access to a magnificent terrace and garden. Walls have been torn down in order to create an open and spacious atmosphere inside. Outside a pergola with some pillars is added to increase shade and relaxation, and an attractive and inviting terrace is the result.
To guarantee high comfort, actual electrical and technical improvements have been performed and bedrooms have been provided with air-conditioning. And, obviously, in the garden a magnificent infinity-swimmingpool welcomes you.
